Church suspends Nigerian lecturer implicated in BBC’s ‘Sex for Grades’ exposé

The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria has suspended its pastor, Prof Boniface Igbeneghu, a senior lecturer at the University of Lagos (Unilag), who was captured in BBC’ s ‘Sex for Grades’ exposé.

According to the church, it totally disassociates itself from the purported conduct of Dr Igbeneghu and promises to take appropriate measures.

In a statement, signed by the National Secretary, Rev Ikechukwu Ugbaja, the church said “the attention of the leadership of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria has been drawn to a video clip trending on social media platforms titled ‘Sex for Grades:BBC undercover in West Africa universities.’ The general public is hereby informed that as a holiness and Bible-believing church, we do not condone such heinous and unscriptural act among our ministers.”
