An 89-year-old man, identified as Kwaku Opoku, has died after he was trapped and burnt in a fire that destroyed parts of a five-bedroom house at Aputuogya in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred at a house near God’s Way Maternity Clinic, with digital address number AT-1140-4270, where the fire affected two out of the four self-contained bedrooms in the building.

According to reports, the property, owned by Mr Ernest Boateng, was occupied by Mr Enoch Amoah Appiah and his family, as well as Madam Abena Mansah and her family.

A combined team from the Regional Sub-Station and the KNUST Fire Station responded to the emergency and successfully brought the blaze under control using water.

However, the crew discovered the lifeless body of Mr Opoku, who had been trapped during the incident and could not escape the raging flames.
