Chief Executive Officer of National Entrepreneurship and innovation plan (NEIP), John Kuma, says his outfit has supported 1,350 businesses financially.

The NEIP, according to him, has also provided training for 7,000 businesses.

NEIP is an initiative which seeks to provide national support for start-ups and small businesses and according to the NEIP CEO, the initiative has since seen a lot of beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries, he said, have received funds ranging from 10,000 to GHC 100,000 to build their businesses.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen show Monday, Mr Kumah stated that NEIP is set within the context of Ghana’s long-term strategic vision of consolidating its middle-income status and building an industry-driven economy capable of providing decent jobs that are suitable and sustainable for development.

“We are planning to collaborate with banks in the long term, so that all businesses who train under the NEIP will be given our recommendation to access loans from the respective banks,” he said.

NEIP primarily focuses on providing business development services; startup incubators and funding for young businesses to enable them grow and become successful.

NEIP exists to enable new businesses to emerge and give them the space to grow, to receive financing and business development services, to secure orders during the critical formative years, and to tap into a wide supply chain for their growth years, helping to create jobs at a widely distributed national level.
