The government’s ongoing post-flood mitigation exercise has moved to the ICGC area, where personnel of the 48 Engineer Regiment are dredging a major storm drain along Teshie Bush Road near ICGC Temple East.

The exercise forms part of measures to improve drainage infrastructure, remove silt and debris from storm drains, and reduce the risk of flooding in vulnerable communities.

The dredging operation is expected to restore the capacity of the storm drain to efficiently channel rainwater, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall.

The intervention is one of several flood mitigation measures being undertaken by the government following recent flooding incidents in parts of the country.

Authorities say the ongoing works are aimed at enhancing the free flow of water through major drainage systems while improving flood resilience in affected communities.
