Regional Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Appiah- Kodua, is confident the 2019 budget statement will be a manifestation of President Akufo-Addo ’s commitment to put money in the pockets of Ghanaians.

Kwame Appiah- Kodua said government, having the plight of average Ghanaian at heart, drafted the 2012 budget in a way that would be most beneficial to all.

Finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta is in parliament to present the government’s financial plans and policies before Parliament.

According to sources, the government will ask parliament to approve close to 70 billion cedis to cover programmes earmarked for economic growth next year.

The government will announce new measures in the budget including the need to broaden the tax base to rope in more Ghanaians.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Thursday, Kwame Appiah-Kodua said Ghanaians can heave a sigh of relief.

He explained that the budget has been structured in such a way that the socio-economic challenges of Ghanaians will be addressed.

“Aside infrastructure, government will provide loans for small-scale industry, provide jobs as part of the NPP’s social intervention programme in alleviating poverty in the country,” he stated.

Mr Appiah-Kubi who is also the Eastern Regional NADMO Coordinator said a government who has been able to address graduate unemployment which was an albatross on the neck of successive governments can do anything in the interest of Ghana.

He called on Ghanaians to ignore the naysayers and support the Akufo-Addo government to deliver its promises.
