Funeral of the late Dagbon Yaana Yakubu Andani is ongoing amidst tension at Yendi in the Northern Region.
Prior to the funeral, there were exchange of gunshots between Andanis and the Abudus leading to the killing of one person and several injuries.

15 persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Adom News’ Illiasu Rauf Dabre who is in the area reported that, there is heavy police presence in the area but the funeral is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Andani royal family has welcome moves by Government to improve security in Yendi for the continuation of the funeral of Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani the second, later this afternoon.

They however want the police to carry out a search and retrieve arms and ammunition from the Nayilifon area were gunshots were fired on Friday which disrupted the funeral.
But already the IGP through the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer assured they will conduct a thorough of all vehicles and suspicious individuals.
