A young woman believed to be in her 20s has been found dead at American Town in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region.

The deceased, who is yet to be identified, was found naked close to an abandoned container in the area on Monday.

The Assemblyman for the area, Shadrach Boakye Yiadom, told Adom News she had injuries believed to have been caused by a sharp object on her face.

Mr Yiadom said a small handbag was also found beside her.

Residents who are currently living in fear have called on the Central East Regional Police Command to beef up security in the area to save lives.
