President Akufo-Addo has visited injured victims of the Atomic Junction Gas explosion who are receiving treatment at the Accra Regional Hospital.

Seven people were confirmed dead in the aftermath of the blast, while 132 people sustained varying degrees of injury.

68 are receiving treatment, while 64 others have been discharged from the various hospitals across the capital.

However, during his visit at the Accra Regional Hospital, the first man in the country expressed satisfaction towards the efforts by doctors, nurses and health workers to coordinate relief and assistance to the victims.

He further pledged his administration is ready to provide the necessary aid to boost the recovery of the victims.

“I am impressed with the efforts that are been made to coordinate relief and assistance to those who have been affected by this senseless tragedy. I am reassured that all of these doctors, nurses, health workers will mobilize to provide the relief to the victims…” he stated.

“The ministers here will make sure whatever assistance on the part of government can be given to make work easy. I think we need to find a way to make sure these things don’t happen in Ghana…” he maintained.
