Duncan-Williams condemns Christians for opposing national cathedral

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has described as sad how Christians are the ones fighting against the building of a National Cathedral in Ghana.

He wondered whether the criticisms and opposition is because it is not their political party building the temple for God.
“I’ve been here for a while, never have I seen any president say: ‘We came into office and I want to build a National Cathedral to the name of the Lord’. And you know the people fighting it? Not other religions, but it’s us, Christians. It’s us, Christians fighting it” he stated.
President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 unveiled the design and architecture for the National Cathedral at a brief ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre.

It will be a 5,000-capacity auditorium with a grand central hall, music school, choir rehearsal and multi-purpose spaces, an art gallery and a shop.
The president said the edifice would be an iconic centre for thanksgiving and for worshiping God for His mercies and urged Ghanaians to support the project.
But this initiative by government has suffered a setback following criticisms by the opposition political parties and civil society groups stating that it is a waste of resources.

Also, the Acting General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Kwabena Bonfeh Jnr., has dragged the government to the Supreme Court over the matter.
But addressing his congregation on Sunday, Archbishop Duncan-Williams said it is surprising the noise being made about building a National Cathedral when in fact, Muslims in the country have a National Mosque which never generated any controversy.
The founder of the Action Chapel International (ACI) said he expected massive support for a President who is determined to build a temple for God.
What even beats his imagination, the renowned preacher said, majority of those opposing it dont even understand the motive behind the project.
“And we’ll oppose it, even when we don’t understand it. We won’t ask the questions, we criticize things, we fight everything”, he fumed.
Archbishop Duncan-Williams said he is not surprised about the reaction towards the building of a National Cathedral because “there are Christians who don’t care about the cause of Christ”.
May God forgive this MAN……he thinks we are still dump and blind.
Hmmmmmm, I always pray in my mind and heart that this leaders will have good revelation about things like this in this country.
