The University of Ghana (UG) has cautioned students and the general public against a fake notice circulating on social media regarding reopening dates and hall allocation fees for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The notice, dated Wednesday, October 14, 2026, claims that traditional hall allocation for fresh students would take place on Thursday, October 15, at a fee of GH¢2,000 per semester.

It also indicates that continuing students would pay GH¢4,300 per semester to access the university’s regular halls, including the Diaspora Halls.

According to the circulating notice, Level 100 students are expected to report to campus on Friday, October 16, while continuing students would resume on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

However, the university management has urged the university community and the general public to disregard the notice, describing it as fake.

The university has cautioned the public against relying on the unauthorised information and urged students to seek accurate updates through its official communication channels.

The warning comes amid the circulation of information purporting to outline arrangements for the reopening of the university and accommodation allocations for the new academic year.
