Two persons have been arrested by the Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service in connection with the alleged disappearance of the body of the late Odupong Ofaakor, Chief of Kasoa, Nai Awushie Tetteh, in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
According to Nananom, the body of the late overlord reportedly went missing months after his death, prompting investigations by the Ghana Police Service’s Homicide Unit.
The investigations have led to the arrest of two persons identified as Daniel Awer and Chris Banahene in connection with the alleged disappearance.
Addressing a press conference, the Boundary Chief of the Awutu Traditional Area, Nai Kwaben Atopi, accused the Awutu Senya East Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Sabah Banini, of allegedly conniving with the two suspects to remove the remains of the late overlord.
Nai Atopi said the two suspects are currently in police custody, while Nananom have since discovered the whereabouts of the body.

He explained that the necessary traditional arrangements would be made to retrieve the remains and properly lay the late overlord to rest.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Kasoa, Nai Saani Seidu III, has expressed disappointment in the Awutu Senya East Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Sabah Banini, accusing him of disrespecting Nananom since assuming office.
