The Hoe Traditional Council in the Volta Region has installed His Honour Samuel Boafo Amewuho as the new Paramount Chief of the area, ending an 11-year period without a substantive traditional leader.
He has assumed the stool under the traditional name Togbe Sesinu VI, with his installation expected to usher in a new era of unity, effective leadership and development in the Hoe Traditional Area.
The new Paramount Chief made the commitment during his installation and outdooring ceremony held at Hoe, where he outlined his vision for the area in an interview with Adom News.
Togbe Sesinu VI said his reign would be defined by tangible achievements rather than elaborate speeches, stressing that the true measure of leadership was its impact on the lives of the people.
As part of his immediate plans, he cut the sod for the construction of an eight-unit chamber-and-hall self-contained facility for nurses and teachers posted to the area.
The accommodation project is expected to ease the housing difficulties faced by essential service workers and provide better conditions for teachers and health professionals serving the community.
The Paramount Chief also appealed to the youth of Hoe to stay away from drug abuse, urging them to make choices that would protect their future and enable them to contribute meaningfully to the development of the area.
He further called on both local and foreign investors to consider investing in agriculture in Hoe, highlighting the availability of extensive fertile and arable lands.
According to Togbe Sesinu VI, the area also has a strong workforce capable of supporting a range of agricultural ventures.
He therefore encouraged investors to engage with the traditional council and local communities to identify and develop opportunities in agriculture that could create jobs and promote sustainable economic growth.
The installation of Togbe Sesinu VI brings an end to more than a decade without a substantive Paramount Chief in the Hoe Traditional Area, with residents now looking to the new leadership to advance efforts towards unity and development.
