The family of the late Apostle Prof. Dr. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo Kantanka has dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that his funeral has been scheduled, stressing that no official date has been fixed for his burial and final funeral rites.
In a statement issued after the reading of the renowned inventor’s will, the family said it deemed it necessary to address growing misinformation surrounding the funeral arrangements.
According to the statement, consultations are still ongoing, and the family will announce the official funeral date and programme only after all necessary processes have been completed.
The family also disassociated itself from invitation cards, posters, flyers and social media publications circulating online, including those bearing the dates July 30, July 31 and August 28, 2026.
It stressed that none of the materials currently in circulation has been authorised or issued by the family.
“The Family has announced no official date for the burial and final funeral rites. The Family will communicate the approved funeral date and programme only after the necessary consultations have been concluded,” the statement said.
The family explained that it is working to ensure the funeral arrangements are carried out in accordance with the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s wishes, the family’s customs and all applicable customary and administrative protocols.
Until then, it urged the public and the media to disregard all unverified information and rely only on official communications from authorised family representatives.
The family also expressed appreciation to Ghanaians, the media, friends and well-wishers for the overwhelming support, prayers and condolences received following the passing of the founder of the Kantanka Group.
