The Mayor of Tema, Ebi Bright and the Member of Parliament for Tema East, Nii Ashai Odamten, have jointly supported this year’s Tema Homowo Festival with food items, drinks and financial assistance.
The two leaders joined the Chiefs and people of the Tema Traditional Area as part of activities marking the annual celebration, presenting the items as a gesture of support for the traditional authorities and the wider community.
The donation was received by the Mankralo and Acting President of the Tema Traditional Council, Nii Adjetey Agbo, on behalf of the Chiefs and people.
Nii Adjetey Agbo expressed appreciation for the gesture, which comes as the traditional area prepares for the various activities associated with the Homowo season.
Homowo remains an important occasion for the Ga people, bringing families and communities together to celebrate their heritage, observe traditional rites and strengthen communal bonds.
For Tema, the celebration also provides an opportunity to preserve its cultural identity while bringing traditional leadership, residents and public officials together.
The Mayor and the Tema East MP extended their best wishes to the traditional authorities and residents for a peaceful and successful Homowo celebration.
