Motorists using the Accra-Tema Motorway this morning are facing severe delays following a fuel tanker fire near the Ashaiman overhead bridge and the Adjei Kojo underpass, with heavy congestion building up along affected portions of the highway.
The burnt tanker and a tipper truck involved in the earlier collision remain on the road as emergency teams work to clear the scene, significantly restricting vehicular movement along one of Accra’s busiest corridors.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and other emergency responders are still on the ground, and motorists are being urged to cooperate with traffic directions as authorities work to restore normal flow.
Drivers travelling between Tema and Accra are advised to use alternative routes where possible to avoid the delays.
