A taxi driver known as Atopa died in a head-on collision with a commercial bus on the Techiman – Tamale highway in the Brong Ahafo region.
According to reports, the driver of the bus with registration number GS 5526 –Y tried to overtake a vehicle in front but crushed the Matiz taxi cab killing the driver and injuring the passenger when he could not control his speed.
Both the taxi driver and the passenger were trapped and it took residents several minutes to remove them from the mangled car.
The passenger is in critical condition at the Kintampo Municipal hospital while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
