The Municipal Chief Executive for Awutu Senya East, Seth Banini, has called for a thorough investigation into the tragic death of a pregnant woman and her unborn child at the Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital.
Speaking on Badwam on Adom TV, he stressed that the matter must not be treated as routine.
“Investigation shouldn’t be business as usual. Those found culpable must be dealt with,” he stated.
According to him, the circumstances that led to the death of the woman and her baby must be fully examined, and any individuals found responsible must face the law to serve as a deterrent.
Mr Banini expressed concern over recurring reports of maternal deaths allegedly linked to negligence by some health professionals, insisting that such incidents must come to an end.
He assured that the municipal authorities will collaborate with relevant institutions to ensure justice is served, adding that no one will be shielded if found at fault.
