23 students of the University of Mines & Technology (UMaT) has been offered scholarship by  Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Hon. George Mireku Duker.

The GH₵120,000 is for the tuition fee and other expenses of  Regular BSc, MSc & fee paying students.

This unprecedented achievement forms part of the scholarship packages Hon. George Mireku Duker secured from the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat when he hosted the Secretariat on March 22, 2018 in Tarkwa.

At the presentation, Hon. Duker reiterated his joy to see young ones pick up such opportunities to achieve their educational goals which in return will contribute massively towards nation building.

The MP once again reiterated on his quest to make education a greater priority within the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal achievable.

The beneficiaries in return expressed appreciation for the kind gesture which in their words will go a long way to help them achieve their dreams as some were thinking to abandon their programs due to financial problems.

Also, hundreds of continuing Senior High School (SHS) scholarships and scholarships to study abroad has been secured by MP.

Beneficiaries thanked President Akufo-Addo and Hon. Mireku Duker for the massive support to ensure their education is secured.

  1. On the behalf of all the UMaT students ,we says ;we are well pleased and appreciative of what the MP has done for us.Not too long ago that the ex president Kuffuo was made the chancellor of the university, He also made a huge contribution to the school.
