Tanzania have confirmed an international friendly against Ghana during the September international window as both nations continue preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Taifa Stars will face the Black Stars following their opening qualifying fixtures, with the match expected to form part of an extended international programme for both teams.
Ghana are set to begin their AFCON 2027 qualification campaign with a high-profile clash against Côte d’Ivoire before hosting Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium in their second Group fixture.
Carlos Queiroz’s side are then expected to take on Tanzania, one of the three co-hosts of the 2027 tournament alongside Kenya and Uganda.
Before meeting Ghana, Tanzania will face Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar in their own qualifying matches.
The Taifa Stars have already announced their squad for the upcoming games, with BK Häcken midfielder Sabri Kondo returning to the national team setup.
Bernard Kamungo has also been included in the squad for the September fixtures.
The Ghana Football Association recently confirmed Queiroz will remain in charge of the Black Stars after guiding the team to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Portuguese coach is expected to name his squad for the AFCON qualifiers in the coming weeks.
Reports also suggest Ghana could face Egypt in another international friendly later this month as Queiroz continues preparations for the Black Stars’ upcoming competitive assignments.
