Tamale MCE’s closing down Aliu Mahama stadium unnecessary – Halifax

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Zylofon Cash, Halifax Ansah Addo has described as unnecessary Tamale’s MCE’s decision to ban activities at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium in the Northern Region.

Iddrisu Musah Superior, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Tamale, described Fancy Gadam’s talent as “a danger” to the people of Tamale. The MCE also stated that he has banned all concerts at the Tamale Sports Stadium until further notice.

He made this statement on the back of an accident that claimed the lives of some fans of the Tamale-based artiste.

“I have banned all [musical] concerts at the stadium. No more [musical] concerts until further notice. We are not going to allow that. He was not coming to pay a courtesy call on my disciplined chiefs. They were all over the place, blocked the streets. A lot of indiscipline on the streets,” he noted.

But speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Halifax said the MCE’s statement were too harsh, adding that, he made them out of anger.

According to him, he cannot fathom why Mr Iddrisu would blame Fancy for the accident when he wasn’t even part of the convoy.

“I think he spoke out of anger and I think he will realize that closing down the stadium is not a solution with bikers riding without helmet. When there is a football match and political rallies, they ride. We need to find a solution and not close down stadiums. Fancy Gadam wasn’t part of the convoy…”

“Fancy is devastated. Do you know how it feels to book everything and cancel it because you are in pain? It is not right to site him as danger to society. I think in retrospect he will come out to address it. In our grief and pain let’s try to be reasonable…” he maintained.
