Private legal practitioner, Dr Maurice Ampaw, has been detailing how some female students sexually harassed him when he was a lecturer at the Central University.

Speaking on Adom TV’s morning show, Badwam, the fun-loving lawyer said the female students harassed him with lots of love proposals with many desiring to be in a relationship with him.

“I was sexually harassed at Central University when I was a lecture there. They went on vacation and when they returned, one of the female students bought me boxer shorts, added £100 cash and put it in my pigeonhole on campus in order to draw my attention.

“She even came to class and was staring at me with sexy eyes. I even informed the class though I didn’t mention her name,” he said.

According to him, he resisted those temptations and ensured that he did not misconduct himself as a respected teacher of the law.

Lawyer Ampaw’s comment was in reaction to the latest ‘Sex for Grades’ investigative documentary by BBC Africa Eye.

Lawyer Ampaw said Prof Gyampo and the other lecturer, who was implicated in the video, should have known better and behaved accordingly.

To him, the term #SexForGrades was just a term to describe the documentary and was used to denote the use of sexual exploitation to influence academic progress in the many forms it exists.

He said in as-much-as some lecturers take advantage of female students, some of the female students are very bad and consistently tempt their teachers into having sexual affairs with them.

I will place an injunction on Mahama’s return – Lawyer https://www.adomonline.com/i-will-place-an-injunction-on-mahamas-return-lawyer/ Mon, 17 Dec 2018 06:00:19 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1542341 Any attempt by former President Mahama to contest the 2020 general elections would be met with an injunction, an astute lawyer has warned.

Lawyer Maurice Kwabena Ampaw has joined the league of persons who believe it is about time to undertake a legal exercise at the court to decide whether the 1992 Constituion grants former President Mahama the opportunity to run for office again after exhausting his tenure.

READ: Girls rule week 3 of Adom Bible Quiz

According to Lawyer Mauricre Ampaw, he is prepared to “legally frasturate him (Mahama) and fight him politically to stop him from coming back”.

The move, he explained, would benefit the nation.

“It wouldn’t help the NDC in any way, and this is the reason I have chosen to speak against his return”, he said.

Speaking to Peace fm, Lawyer Ampaw repeated that “I will frastrate him legally by taking him to court so that he goes there and give reasons on why he wants to come back. The exercise I have chosen to undertake is a test of the 1992 Constitution and that is why we have the court to decide whether I have a good case or not.”

LISTEN: Audio: I’m a co-founder of Heirs Church but… – Pastor’s wifeexplains conduct

Amongst the issues to seek clarity in the court, Lawyer Ampaw mentioned that he would be questioning if the 1992 Constitution allows former Presidents, who have finished serving their tenure and collected their ex-gratia in full, the opportunity to come back for double ex-gratia.

“I would be seeking to know if an ex-president who has finished serving his term and collected his ex-gratia can come back for a double ex-gratia…whether it is in the spirit of our Constitution that we should have a situation whereby you are given an opportunity to serve the nation as a President you can come back for another ex-gratia”, he said.

He however maintained that he is patiently waiting on the sidelines for the day the National Democratic Congress would make a move to elect former President Mahama as their flagbearer during their impending primaries.

“After the elections, if he declares his intent to contest the national elections, I (Ampaw) would place an injunction on him”, he stated.

He went on to promise that “ the injunction would happen. I don’t care about the insults because I am above it. I am doing this for the good of the NDC”.

Lawyer Ampaw warned that former President Mahama’s comeback would be dangerous for the nation.

Mahama’s comeback like elementary school vacation party – Ampaw [Audio] https://www.adomonline.com/mahamas-comeback-like-elementary-school-vacation-party-ampaw-audio/ Tue, 28 Aug 2018 14:55:40 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1292221

A private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw, has criticised former President John Mahama’s decision to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer race.

According to Mr Ampaw, John Mahama will not be accountable to Ghanaians in 2024 in the event that he gets the nod in 2020 leading to 2014.

He likened Mr Mahama’s come back to a child going for an elementary school vacation party.

“Mahama’s comeback is really a disaster and should not be encouraged. I see his second coming as a child who is going for ‘Our Day’ prior to a vacation. That child is happy and in a jubilant mood because that child has nothing to lose except to enjoy,” he said.

“That is how Mahama is behaving. Trust me, if he is given the nod in 2020, he will not be accountable to anyone and may end up ruling anyhow because he thinks he may not be given the chance to rule in 2024. He thinks that will be I last term and so will not take the presidency serious.

“I think his decision is a disaster and should not be encouraged at all,” he said on Accra based Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

Mahama on Thursday officially notified the party of his intention to contest for the flagbearer position of the party.

In a short video moments after his letter of intent was submitted on his behalf by Ambassador Daniel Ohene Agyekum to the NDC executives, Mahama stated a comeback will provide him with an opportunity to “right the wrong of the past.”

However, the private legal practitioner believes Mr Alban Bagbin is the right person to lead the NDC and therefore should be given the chance.

He said Alban Bagbin is a true NDC member and incorruptible unlike John Mahama who whose regime was characterized by greed and corruption.

“I will go for Alban Bagbin and I will also admonish any genuine NDC delegates to vote for Alban Bagbin because they will have the opportunity to win the race in 2020 with Bagbin as a presidential candidate” he pleaded.

Human rights activists pushing for gay rights are mad – Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/human-rights-activists-pushing-gay-rights-mad-maurice-ampaw/ Wed, 10 Jan 2018 07:21:42 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=823161 Outspoken Ghanaian Lawyer, Maurice Ampaw, has described Human rights activists pushing for gay rights as mad.
Lawyer, Maurice Ampaw made this comment in relation to a report released by Human Rights Watch which suggested that Ghanaians treat Gays as Second Class citizens.
In the report, Human Right Watch noted that Ghanaians who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) suffer widespread discrimination and abuse and are virtually living as second-class citizens.
Human Rights Watch is, therefore, questioning the retention of section 104 of the Criminal Offences Act since that is thwarting efforts to protect the rights of members of the LGBTI community.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw speaking on Atinka midday news noted that society consists of two groups of people, these are right thinking members and those who according to him do not think right.
According to the renowned lawyer, members of the LGBTI are not right thinking members of the community hence does not deserve to be respected or shown mercy.
“Gays and Lesbians are just like criminals, they are threats to the society and do not deserve rights enjoyed by the average Ghanaian”.

Those who will refuse to pay TV license are ‘foolish’ – Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/will-refuse-pay-tv-license-foolish-maurice-ampaw/ https://www.adomonline.com/will-refuse-pay-tv-license-foolish-maurice-ampaw/#comments Wed, 03 Jan 2018 07:45:04 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=806471 Controversial private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has stated that it smacks of foolishness for one to take an entrenched stance he or she will not pay TV license in the country.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has sent a patriotic message to those opposing government’s decision to strengthen the collection of TV license through the latest measure saying it’s unwise for them to say they would not pay TV license.
Sympathizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Ghanaian musician, Kwame Asare Obeng also known as A Plus has ignited a public debate indicated, he will never pay TV license and is therefore ready to face the law to defend his decision.
Many Ghanaian citizens have jumped into the fray to defend his position indicating that there is nothing unique about the state broadcaster to warrant the payment of GH¢36 as TV license.
The Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) earlier sent a request to the Attorney General seeking to create a special court for TV license collection.
Eleven special courts have been set up by the AG throughout the country to ensure culprits are charged and fined for defying orders to pay TV license.
However, further development has indicated the, Director General of the GBC did not engage the various stakeholders before presenting the request to the AG.
But lawyer Maurice Ampaw, speaking in a radio interview with Silver FM in Kumasi urged Ghanaians to pay the levy irrespective of how people feel in relation to GTV’s content.
“You can’t argue in the law court that, GTV has not been offering you what you like so there is no reason to pay TV license. Therefore instead of paying a small amount why do you prefer to pay more when being sent to court?” He quizzed
“Even the transportation involved in attending court sessions alone can pay what you refused to”. He added
According to him, it will be ‘unwise’ for anyone to refuse to pay looking at the cost involved when you are charged for defying the law.
He described such act as ‘unwise’ and encouraged Ghanaians to pay the levy.
“GTV promotes National heritage therefore we must not hesitate to pay the levy. We can only criticize and hold them responsible when we duly pay it”. He urged.

Lawyer Ampaw posted the picture on his Facebook post and captioned “say no to gayism”.
The lawyer has however dared President Akufo-Addo and his government to make homosexuality part of his campaign message, come 2020.
“If the president thinks he is brave enough and support homosexuality, he should go ahead and use it as his political campaign message come 2020 general elections. He should promise he is going to make it legal and see”, he charged.
He stressed that he will turn gay if the President gets 10% of the total votes in the Election 2020.

Nana Addo lacks the 'balls' to speak against homosexuality – Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/nana-addo-lacks-balls-speak-homosexuality-maurice-ampaw/ Wed, 29 Nov 2017 06:43:26 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=714771 President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s statement on homosexuality was a cowardice statement and he will not get 10 percent of votes in 2020 should he endorse homosexuality, lawyer Maurice Ampaw has said.
Lawyer Ampaw says the president who is championing Africa beyond aid agenda should have been blunt and told the host that, Ghana will never support homosexuality because it is against our cultural and religious practices.
Ghana he noted does not need any aid from foreigners with strings of homosexual legalization attached.
He commended the late President Mills, for his blunt stance on the subject and has, therefore, threatened to stage a demonstration against the president with the voice of late Mills, as a tool to speak against any attempt to endorse homosexuality.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in a recent interview with Aljazeera, said, the legalization of homosexuality has not been possible in Ghana because no strong institution has pushed for it like was done in England.
He said the president is encouraging the gay community in Ghana to push for their rights but the president should dare us and see what will happen. The gay community in Ghana should dare and push this agenda and see what will happen.
They should stage this agenda and see who is who in this country, he added. Parents of the president did not support homosexuality and so why should he endorse it? He quizzed if the president would be happy if his daughters decide to marry their fellow women?

Make homosexuality 2020 campaign message and I’ll turn gay – Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/make-homosexuality-2020-campaign-message-ill-turn-gay-maurice-ampaw/ Tue, 28 Nov 2017 06:57:34 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=711441 Celebrity Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has dared the President of the republic of Ghana on his stance on homosexual in the country and challenged him to make that his 2020 campaign message.
“If the president thinks he is brave enough and support homosexuality, he should go ahead and use it as his political campaign message come 2020 general elections. He should promise he is going to make it legal and see”. He dared
The controversial lawyer dared the president that, he will turn gay should Nana Addo obtain 10% of the total votes with such a campaign.
On Kumasi-based, Sika Fm, he dared the president: “Tell him, if he gets event 10% of the total votes in that election, I Maurice Ampaw will turn a gay. I dare him”.
Homosexuality is considered one of the highest sins in any African community. Some leaders in the African continent have criticized the devilish act saying it has no roots in their countries.
Former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills clearly set the record straight by saying Ghana was not going to accept that.
The President of the Republic of Ghana,Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo in an interview with Aljazeera made a ‘controversial’ statement regarding homosexuality in the country.
During the interview, the journalist said, “I want to ask you, what is happening in your country, and homosexuality which I believe is illegal and punishable in your country. Why is homosexuality still illegal in your country?
Nana Addo in responding said, “This is the socio-cultural issue if you like…I don’t believe that in Ghana, so far, a sufficiently strong coalition has emerged which is having that impact on public opinion that will say: ‘Change it [the law], let’s then have a new paradigm in Ghana.”
The journalist again asked if the President would get behind but he answered, “I think it is something which is bound to happen”.
However, this comment from the president did not go down well to most Ghanaians. Some say he is in support of the ‘devilish act’ of the society with various groups condemning his response.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw said that homosexuality undermine Gods will of proclamation.
The European Court, made up of 47 juries in the year 2016, passed a judgment on homosexuality stating clearly that, homosexuality is not a normal thing in the society therefore it is never discriminatory for a country to denounce its legality.

Ladies love me because I’m good in bed-Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/ladies-love-im-good-bed-maurice-ampaw/ Fri, 17 Nov 2017 08:52:45 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=675411 Controversial private legal practitioner has boasted of being the toast of most ladies in the country because he is exceptionally good in bed.
“No lady can dump me because I can perform. I am very good in bed and the ladies love me for that. I also shower gifts on them…I properly take care of ladies and it is not easy they can jilt me for other men”, he revealed on Okay Fm.
Responding to claims the founder of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre, Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom snatched his girl, he said that is not possible because no man can ever take a girl he is dating.
A livid Maurice Ampaw said he is on top of his game when it comes to treating women and challenged ladies he has dated to prove otherwise.
“I really incur cost in maintaining ladies I date so it not possible for someone like Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom to snatch my girl”
Asked if he receives love proposals from ladies, he said it is a daily routine.
“Ladies propose to me every day but I love my wife and I have twins with. We are married for 15 years and for the first 10 years we had no children but we persevered and now we have twins”, he explained.
He also said he has become a constant victim of pretty ladies using various tactics including sending him nude images and porn videos of themselves to seduce him in order to get laid.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw added that his social media handles inboxes are flooded with nude images and videos of these ladies he suspects are only interested in ensuring that he indulges sexual intercourse with them but has vowed to keep his ground.
While admitting he has never met some of his secret admirers before, he observed that the situation has become pronounced with his handles inundated with invites from the ladies he does not know from ‘Adam’.

I declined an appointment in Akufo-Addo’s government – Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/declined-appointment-akufo-addos-government-maurice-ampaw/ Wed, 15 Nov 2017 07:16:37 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=665501 Controversial lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has said he would have been appointed into the current government long ago if he desired.
He said his refusal to accept an appointment is borne out of the fact that politicians are not to be trusted though he believes in the ideals and ideologies of the current government he voted for at the 2016 polls.
According to him, he pities politicians each time they exit power because most are unable to maintain their flamboyant lifestyles and live like paupers citing members of the opposition National Democratic Congress as an example.
On what will make him accept a position in government, he said the President must officially apply to him because it is a call to duty which will make his administration look good.
President Akufo-Addo should beg me before I can accept any appointment. Working for the country is a service, so if I am to serve the country, the President should come forward to beg me by writing an application letter asking me to serve in his government,’ he stated.
In which area he would have preferred if he chooses to accept an appointment, he disclosed to Ike De-Unpredictable on Abusua Fm that he will prefer the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to afford him an opportunity to sensitize women on legal matters.

His advise comes after the former maverick radio personality KKD threw his support for his son despite the backlash from the public.
“He should stay abroad with his gay life and should not come to Ghana because if he comes to Ghana, he is now a sacrilege to the country.
He will be monitored by the police and should he engage in any form of sexual relations, with anybody, he will be arrested because his action is a criminal offence. He cannot also marry here in Ghana,” Lawyer Ampaw said.

VIDEO: Maurice Ampaw reveals how much prostitutes charge for sex https://www.adomonline.com/video-maurice-ampaw-reveals-much-prostitutes-charge-sex/ Mon, 23 Oct 2017 07:20:13 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=599711 Private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has disclosed the amount commercial sex workers charge for their services.

According to the “Celebrity Lawyer”, the amount charged by prostitutes depends on the type of sex and how long the man wants to last during the intercourse.

He said, some of the prostitutes take GHC50 which is the cheapest amount, for sex that does not involve kissing, touching and fondling.

“I have done research on that and I know that some of the prostitutes take GHC50 for short time; even that one there’s no kissing and touching involved and it lasts for at most two minutes,” he said.

Mr. Ampaw explained that, for a man to have a full night with a prostitute and be able to satisfy his libido, he is required to pay not less than GHC150.

“We also have full night. That one you can play all the sexual games with the lady. They charge from at least GHC150 and GHC200, and even some charge in dollars,” he revealed.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw was speaking on “BO ME NKOMO” with Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) on why husbands have to compensate their wives when they file for divorce in court.

He said, it is necessary for a husband who is requesting for annulment of marriage to pay damages to his wife because he had had sexual intercourse with her on several occasions and in most cases has produced babies with her.

“If a man pays GHC50 and GHC150 to a prostitute for just a short sexual encounter, how much more a woman he married for almost 25years and have been having sex with her every day when he feels for it? So court can quantify the number of years you had sex with her and then demand that you compensate her,” he stressed.

Moaning during sex is a crime – Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/moaning-sex-crime-maurice-ampaw/ Tue, 10 Oct 2017 11:59:32 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=564961 Legal practitioner Maurice Ampaw says incessant loud moaning during sex is a crime which must be punished.

According to him, moaning infringes on the rights of others and must be stopped.

“Why is it that you are having sex and I cannot sleep? In a compound house, they are having sex with you and everybody cannot sleep, you are infringing upon their rights to privacy and you are committing a crime and a wrong to them because you are committing what we call sexual nuisance,” he said.

The legal practitioner told Lexis Bill in an interview on Behind the Fame on Drive Time on Joy FM that, “Everything that makes noise, everything that makes you uncomfortable is a nuisance.”

The controversial lawyer explained that, “There are some girls when they are having sex and you are passing on the streets, you will hear them moaning and screaming.”

“The worst ones are the men, if you are a man and you are having sex too and you are talking and moaning…can’t you control yourself? You should have self-control,” he said. “When animals are having sex do you hear them moaning like that?”

Maurice Ampaw recounted an experience in Koforidua in the Eastern region where he could not get sleep because of the excessive noise being made by a couple having sex at a hotel he was lodging at.

“After I had finished with a hard day’s work at 7 o’clock I checked into my room and this guy and this girl came to town to chill…and they came to also rest…I was lying down before I could realize, [their] bed [was making noise] and then I woke up, I could not sleep and the girl was giving commentary,” he narrated.

The legal practitioner, who was clearly not amused by the experience, said the couple punished him because he was also in the mood and he didn’t have anybody to have sex with.

“If you are enjoying, enjoy but don’t come and infringe on [my rights]…We must put a stop to it,” Maurice Ampaw concluded.

According to him, the move will bring burden on the Ghana Law School hence must find a way to expand facility.

‘I don’t agree with the SC ruling in that already some of the students who come there have little or no idea some of the subjects and so allowing them to write entrance exams will be the best but scarping interview and exams process before admission will worsen the case.

“When it happens, trust me, the overcrowding alone will force teachers to even teach law courses in the kiosk because it will bring burden on the school” he said on Accra based Neat FM.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw’s comment is in reaction to a ruling by the Supreme Court (SC) to scrap the examination and interview process before admission of students to the Ghana Law School.

The SC ruled on Thursday June 22 that it was unconstitutional for the General Legal Council to ask applicants to the Ghana Law School to write an entrance examination and subsequently be interviewed prior to admission.

The court said the current mode of admission is in violation of Legislative Instrument 1296.

A United States-based Ghanaian lawyer, Professor Kwaku Asare, initiated the suit in 2015, challenging the mode of admission used by the Ghana School of Law.

But lawyer Ampaw believes that scrapping of the entrance examination and the interview affect the quality of the school.

He advised the Court to take a second look at the ruling in order not to churn out half baked lawyers in the country.

Porn movies grooming rapists in Ghana – Maurice Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/porn-movies-grooming-rapists-ghana-maurice-ampaw/ Tue, 20 Jun 2017 10:03:43 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=203901 Controversial lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has argued that watching pornography among other factors could increase the number of rape cases recorded by police in the country.

He said pornographic movies serve as a source of wrong education for the youth and in event they are unable to subdue their unbridled libido, they could forcibly descend on any female on sight to ejaculate.

According to him, he is against the continuous show of such obscene material on television networks in the country appealing to the various state agencies to crack them by banning such stations from further broadcasting of pornography.

On Abusua Entertainment at the weekend, he observed that teenagers who watch such movies will not only be addicted to sex but have the tendency to be rapists.

‘How many adults are able to control their libidos when they watch pornographic movies,’ he asked.

He called on Ghanaians to protect the good morals of the country saying sex is very powerful than alcohol.

Lawyer Ampaw promised to join the group to seek injunction from the Supreme Court to prevent the three television stations from showing pornographic movies.

Two media practitioners, James Berko and Tommy Annan Forson petitioned the Ministry of Information, Chief Justice, National Media Commission (NMC) and other agencies over pornographic movies aired by owners of Ice TV, TV XYZ and Thunder TV.

Some of the stations have since withdrawn the pornographic content.

Audio: I feel sorry for Nana Addo – Lawyer Ampaw https://www.adomonline.com/audio-feel-sorry-nana-addo-lawyer-ampaw/ Thu, 13 Apr 2017 14:30:28 +0000 http://ghana-news.adomonline.com/new/?p=76361 A Celebrity lawyer, Dr. Maurice Ampaw says he pity’s President Akufo-Addo following an  attack by the pro-NPP group, Delta Force, at a Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Court.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo assumed office with a lot of goodwill but has lost a lot of that goodwill as a result of the attack as his administration nears the 100-day mark.

“I feel pity for Nana Addo. The actions of Delta Force have really marred Nana Addo’s 100 days administration. Even NDC in opposition is not troubling Nana Addo but his own party members; NPP is always giving him pressure and are not even considering his age.

“Nana Addo would have scored 90 percent without the Delta Force and that’s why I feel pity for him,Accra-based” Accra-based Okay FM on Thursday.

A Kumasi High Court presided by Justice Obiri Yeboah has granted bail to the 13 Delta Force suspects standing trial for criminal charges.

Each of them was to execute a bail bond of GHS10,000.00 with two sureties each to be justified.

They are also to submit photocopies of their valid ID cards and report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service each week.

The 13 are on trial for rioting, assaulting a public officer, and conspiracy to commit crime.

But Lawyer Ampaw is convinced that the actions of these vigilante groups affiliated with the ruling party have been a bane to the president’s quest to rally Ghanaians behind his developmental agenda.

He, however, downplayed suggestions that the National Security Minister, Kan Daapah, should be dismissed over the Delta Force members’ actions.

Ghana, he stressed, had come of age in her democratic dispensation, and appealed to all and sundry to co-exist peacefully in the years ahead, in the spirit of national reconciliation
