Dancehall maestro Stonebwoy has delivered a headline performance at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, taking BHIM Fest to one of the United Kingdom’s major concert venues.
The event, held on Saturday, August 15, marked the first time a Ghanaian artiste headlined the 12,500-capacity OVO Arena Wembley, adding another milestone to Stonebwoy’s growing international career.
Stonebwoy’s entrance immediately set the tone for a night built around spectacle, Ghanaian culture and Afrodancehall.
With the independence arch and the Ghana flag projected behind him, the artiste made his way down to the arena as fans erupted, before taking control of the stage and moving through some of his biggest records.
One of the standout moments came when he performed “Silent Samurai”, bringing the energy of his Ghanaian shows to the London crowd.
The concert also featured appearances from a strong line-up of Ghanaian and African acts, including Samini, Kwabena Kwabena, Ofori Amponsah, DopeNation, Jux, Mista Silva, Mr P and Stylo G, among others.
For Stonebwoy, however, the significance of the night went beyond another international performance.
The BHIM FEST UK show placed him on the stage of a venue associated with some of the biggest names in global music. Stonebwoy now joins a list of major international and African artistes linked to performances at the 12,500-capacity OVO Arena Wembley, including Beyoncé, Madonna, Prince, Burna Boy and others.
Stonebwoy has steadily taken BHIM FEST beyond Ghana since establishing the festival as one of the major platforms associated with his BHIM Nation movement.
And if the dramatic entrance was anything to go by, Stonebwoy was determined to make sure London did not merely attend BHIM FEST.
