L-R: Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is unhappy with Charterhouse, organisers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ (VGMAs) decision to ban dancehall acts Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

In series of tweets the Artiste of the Decade at the just ended VGMA 2019 vented his spleen and expressed his views concerning the judgement which was delivered at a press conference on May 23, 2019.

According to Sarkodie, he believes the decision was harsh and uncalled for; explaining that the music industry can team up against the event organisation if the need be.

“Charterhouse y’all don’t have to act that quick with your decision cos we could do same to you … My wish is for both sides ( we as artistes and you as organisers ) to work on our mistakes and not one side taking a harsh decision,” he tweeted.

Sarkodie subtly supported Mr Logic’s assertion that Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale shouldn’t be the only victims of the brawl that happened last weekend at the VGMAs.

The BET award-winner, Sarkodie blamed Charterhouse for providing weak security during the event.

“But for Charterhouse to push blame on our brothers and leave their faults out, that’s wrong … Security was bad and a whole lot I don’t wanna go into …

“We have our free will on how we react but you don’t create an environment to test people’s emotions … not everyone can take that,” he said.
