Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Saani Daara, says announcing Coach Sellas Tetteh as head coach of the Black queens was a mistake.
On why the former Black Satellite head coach has not assumed work as announced on the association’s website three weeks ago, the seasoned journalist said the announcement was a mistake, adding that consultations are still ongoing regarding a confirmation.
“We have not yet confirmed Coach Sellas Tetteh as head coach of the Black Queens and that earlier publication [announcing him] was a mistake. We are still in talks with him and will confirm [his oppointment] later”, Saani said.
The former BBC journalist admitted the interim head coach of the Black Queens, Coach Mercy Quarcoo Tagoe is doing well so far in that capacity but in the days ahead, the Association will decide whether to confirm her or settle on the world cup winning coach, Sellas Tetteh.
“Coach Mercy Tagoe has held the fort so well so far but we take our decision very soon and it is not true we withdrew Coach Tetteh’s appointment from the website because he demanded a written contract”.
