The planned commencement of investigations into the recent police shooting incident at Sefwi Sayerano in the Juaboso District has been postponed due to security concerns.
The Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE), Alexander Adu Quist, had earlier announced that the investigative team would begin work on Friday, July 10. However, the exercise was called off after intelligence reports indicated that tension remains high in the community.
The Western North Regional Police Command has since rescheduled the visit to Monday, July 13, to allow the security situation to improve and create a conducive environment for the investigations.
The probe is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident, which resulted in the deaths of three people and left two others injured.
Meanwhile, the Twafohene of Sayerano, Nana Kwasi Sampa, has assured the police of the community’s commitment to helping restore calm.
He has also appealed to residents to remain peaceful and cooperate with the investigative team when it arrives to commence its work.
The incident has heightened tensions in the area, with authorities urging residents to remain calm as efforts continue to uncover the facts surrounding the shooting.
