Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has reacted to rumours that he is close to signing onto the Zylofon Music record label.

Rumours claimed that the rapper was joining the record label owned by business mogul, Nana Appiah Mensah.

However, Sarkodie speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Monday debunked the claims.

According to him, no such conversation has ever popped up between him and the Menzgold CEO even though they are very good friends.

“We never got a conversation like that but I had the opportunity to be very close to Nana Appiah Mensah and conversations that we’ve had, I think I understand his vision”.

He added that there’s a need for Ghanaians to support Zylofon Media to succeed because they have the intention to push Ghanaian music far.

“I think we should all be Zylofon, not necessarily signed to the label. But we all have to support Zylofon, cause he [Nana Appiah Mensah] has this dream and I think he himself doesn’t even know how to go about it because this is entertainment and it’s not his field. So his flaws will be more and we will be using his flaws to critique him and maybe…. I know he is strong and he will not back out. I don’t need to be signed to the label to support it but I think we all need to support Zylofon. For a long time, this is the time someone has to believe in art,” he said.
