SOME SUSPECTED armed robbers have shot and killed a thirty-three year old man, believed to be an elder of an undisclosed church.
The deceased, identified as Elder Kwesi Badu, was among a group of passengers that were robbed by the highway robbers, at a spot between Nyinahini and Chirawe in the Ashanti.
Narrating the story amid sibs, brother of the deceased, Isaac Ofori, said the robbers, numbering about six and armed with guns, blocked the main Nyinahini to Chirawe road on Tuesday dawn.
According to him, the robbers made away with huge sums of money, ladies bags and mobile phones.
The Adontenhene of Nyinahini, Nana Atta Agyeman, who also confirmed the robbery incident, appealed to government to do something about the situation, adding that robbers usually block that portion of the road and at gun-point, rob travelers of their belongings.
He said one way to curb robbery in the area is to construct a police post along that stretch of the road. Meanwhile, the lifeless body of Badu had been deposited at the morgue.
