Former Ghana international Albert Adomah believes Antoine Semenyo will play a crucial role for the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following his impressive rise in club football.
Semenyo has enjoyed a remarkable run since sealing a move from AFC Bournemouth to Manchester City in January. The 25-year-old forward has already scored eight goals in all competitions, underlining his growing reputation.
Adomah, who represented Ghana at the 2014 World Cup, says Semenyo’s current form shows how important he could become for the national team.
“Antoine Semenyo has done extremely well to reach his current level, and by God’s grace, he will continue to progress,” he told 3Sports.
“He has a very bright future with the Black Stars and hopefully at the highest level of club football. I would urge him to keep doing what he’s been doing.
“He’s in great form, and hopefully he carries that into the World Cup with Ghana,” Adomah added.
Semenyo is widely expected to be included in Ghana’s squad for the tournament, which will be staged in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars will be making their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup after being drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England on June 23. Their final group-stage match will be against Croatia on June 27.
