It has emerged that the woman who killed her husband, Michael Lamptey in his sleep has psychological problems.
According to reports, the suspect, Rebecca Lamptey attacked her late husband unprovoked.

Though the matter was reported at the Koforidua office of
the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), it was resolved as a
family issue.
Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh disclosed this in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Monday.

The deceased, 52, died in the couple’s four-bedroom house at Aboabo, near Koforidua in the Eastern Region when his wife of 20 years hit his head with a grinding stone several times.
The attack, DSP Tetteh stated, is no surprise to the family of the deceased as he has been subjected to countless beating by his 45-year old wife.
Family sources also indicated that at one time, the woman was sent to the psychiatric hospital for treatment when she started behaving violently towards the man.

“The man is very faithful even after 20 years of marriage without a child but it is rather the woman who has been hysterical and keeps complaining about her inability to have children,” he added in Twi.
Based on this backdrop, DSP Tetteh said they will arraign the suspect before court and ask for psychological examination.
When the result turns out negative, he said, police will begin investigations for prosecution.
