The Kronkohemaa of Asante Mampong, Nana Akua Aboagyewaa Kente has cautioned the Minority in Parliament to immediately apologize to the new MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan over the ‘bloody widow’ comment.

According to Kronkohemaa, Madam Lydia Alhassan needs to be commended for her boldness following her husband’s death instead of being chastised by the Minority.

“Widowhood is not a crime and so what Seyram did shows she is a bold woman. Considering her situation, yet decided to vie for the position to continue her husband’s good works.”

Also, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)’s Department of Sociology and Social Work, Dr Oheneba Manu says the actions taken by the Minority is an exercise in futility.

“The woman was duly elected as an MP and the law gives her all the privileges so the Minority must stop the intimidation.”

  1. This queen mother is ill informed. She should not talk for the sake of just talking. Why did she not condemn the blood that was witnessed on the by-election day? She should address that, She can never instruct all women not to vote nd. From the vast she talked I deduced she is “hollow”.
