Health officials in the Aowin district of the Western region are facing challenges in distributing immunization equipment because of the poor state of roads in the district.
The officials say the current state of the roads linking communities where their facilities are located is in such a bad state that the motorbikes they use for the immunisation exercises sometimes fall into muds with their equipment.

Speaking to Adomonline.com, the District Health Supervisor, Charles Buah, revealed that on several occasions, he had to struggle before getting access to other facilities to deliver the equipment.
He appealed to the government to come to their aid.
Midwife in charge of Boinso Health Centre, Akua Anuah, also in an interview said the poor nature of the road was affecting health delivery and causing more deaths as patients who are referred to other facilities are unable to make it within time.

She made a passionate appeal to the government to help construct the road to avoid such preventable deaths.
She also asked for the supply of logistics such as motorbikes, mowers and other health equipment to improve health delivery within the district.
Some residents who spoke to our news team accused past and current government officials of failing to fulfil their campaign promises as they relate to roads in the area.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Yensu Center for Community Development, Dr Joseph Yensu, who is a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a native of Aowin is calling on the government to, as a matter of urgency, do something about the road linking Enchi-Elubo and other communities to make vehicular movement easy for road users.
