Retired Ghanaian diplomat K.B Asante has finally been laid to rest after a burial service held at the forecourt of the State House, Saturday March 10, 2018.
The solemn ceremony was attended by friends, family, loved ones and well-wishers who paid their last respects to the departed soul.

In all the tributes read about K.B Asante, the most prominent feature the constant description of the celebrated diplomat as someone of integrity and good will who fought for the good of the country.
His wife of over 60 years in touching words said; “We had a professional relationship that developed into a deep friendship. We’ve been together for over sixty years and shared precious moments and challenges. Our last weekend together was special, and your passing was a shock. I miss you so much. Fare thee well.”
The event at the state house was followed by a private burial held by his family members at the Gethsemane cemetery.

The late K.B Asante’s funeral was graced by the Vice President Muhammadu Bawumia and other prominent figures including former president Jerry John Rawlings in the company of his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, member of the Council of State, Sam Okudzeto, among others.

Born Kwaku Baprui Asante in March 1924, Mr. K.B Asante was secretary to Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and served in the Civil Service for more than 20 years. The statesman kept a column Voice From Afar published in the Daily Graphic for many decades.
K.B Asante took his last breath on Monday, January, 22 at age 93.
He is survived by his wife Matilda Asante and five children.
