Kwakuvi Atiti, a 70-year-old man, has lost his life with his 59-year-old wife, Ekom Atiti, in a critical condition after a building collapsed on them during a heavy downpour at Awutu Penim in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central region.
Information gathered by Adom News suggested that the incident happened around 10:pm on Monday while the couple were asleep.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, the Awutu Senya West National Disaster Management Organisation Administrator, Solomon Ebo William, said other people have been rendered homeless following the downpour.
“Six other houses collapsed in the area. The lifeless body of Kwakuvi has been sent to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital mortuary with his wife receiving treatment at the Bawjiase Polyclinic,” he said.
