The Traditional Council and residents of Akyem Abuakwa in the Eastern region have embarked on a demonstration against the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over comments made against the Okyenhene.
The action of the people, followed a viral audio in the media in which the Ashanti Regional NDC Secretary, Kwame Zu was heard saying the Okyenhene and the people used to drink water with animals.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme, one of the leaders of the Traditional Council said the protest is to register the silence of the NDC almost a week after the statement was made.
“The leadership of the party has been quiet so does it mean that is the general opinion of the NDC?” he quizzed.
