A pastor and two accomplices have been remanded into police custody for two weeks for allegedly attempting to bury a five-month-old baby alive at Abofrem in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

The suspects were remanded by the Bibiani Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Frank Asiedu Nimako, to allow for further investigations into the case.

The accused persons are Richmond Akwasi Frimpong, 36, head pastor of the Anointed Grace Prayer Ministry at Kuffour Camp; Beatrice Agyapomaa, 23, mother of the child; and Emmanuel Appiah, 53, who is said to be the pastor’s uncle.

A fourth suspect, identified only as Donkor, is currently on the run, with police intensifying efforts to apprehend him.

According to the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Benjamin Agyemang, the suspects allegedly conspired to kill the infant, identified as Anaya Achia, under the guise of spiritual intervention.

However, the baby was later discovered alive, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The infant is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital.

The case has been adjourned to April 24, 2026, as investigations continue and the prosecution prepares to present further evidence.
