More than 50 percent of students have completed the self placement in Senior High Schools across the country.

Head of communication for free SHS, Joseberther Gyan Kwakye who disclosed this on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” said though the process has been faced with many challenges, they are optimistic that the process will be successful.

“More than 50 percent of students have completed the self-placement and I can assure you that everything will go on smoothly very soon. Though some students are already gotten admission to various schools, the situation will soon change” she said.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) announced September 1st, that it had released placements for prospective Senior High School students.

The Ministry’s website thereafter advertised that parents and their wards can access their Senior High School (SHS) admission notices.

Mrs. Gyan Kwakye noted that, about 156,000 students did not get placement by the computerised system and were given the opportunity to do self-selection.

She urged heads of the various schools to avail themselves for the students to present their admission letters and register for the academic year.
