Businesses own and run by relatives and close associates of former President Mahama suffered when the former President was in charge of the economy, a brother of the former President has said.

Alfred Abdullai Mahama says though their family focused on running their businesses separate from the ex-president, there were negative ramifications sometimes.

He revealed how some relatives rejected genuine contracts because of their relationship with the then president.

According to Mr Abdullai  Mahama, the family never lost hope and continued to sacrifice for the John Mahama administration.

During my brother’s tenure, he was not running family and friend’s government. No brother nor a member of the Mahama family was a part of his government not to even talk of boards. We were all engaged in private businesses even before Mahama became president“, he pointed out.
