For more than a month the court ceased hearing the matter following an application made by Lawyers for Dr. Opuni demanding access to all documents in the possession of the state prosecutors including those that may not be tendered in as evidence.

Opposition from the AG forced the court to put the trial on hold as it awaited a Judgement from the Supreme Court on the same matter that had been referred to it by an Accra High court hearing the case of former National Communication Authority (NCA) top officials.

The Supreme court, on June 7, ruled that accused persons are entitled to have access to all documents.

Justuce Honyenuga sounded a note of caution to lawyers in the case as he stated that he would not countenance any needless delays.

The Judge fixed July 4 as the date for trial to commence.
