One of the three fire victims near Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST) in the central Gonja District of Savannah Region, Tahiru Abdul Mohammed, has died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, 39 years, was among two other victims that sustained burns from fire outbreak at the BOST parking lodge at Buipe and were rushed to the Buipe clinic where he was later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and died few days after admission.

The other two, who are said to have sustained minor burns, are still on admission at Buipe.

Confirming the incident to Joynews in Damongo was Savannah Regional Fire Service Commander, Kwasi Baffour Awuah. He said the deceased has since been moved and buried up north.

It would be recalled that on January 5, 2020, the BOST truck parking lodge at Buipe in Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region caught fire and some three persons including four trucks were part of the casualties.

Meanwhile, the only fire tender in the district that broke down about a year ago contributing to the delay and severity of the fire, has finally been towed to Tamale for repairs.
