Okere chiefs warn Dan Botwe contenders [Audio]

The Chiefs of Okere in the Eastern Region are warning New Patriotic Party members who may be harbouring the intent to contest the Member of Parliament for Okere Constituency, Dan Botwe, to desist from picking nomination forms or face their wrath.

The chiefs have vowed to resist anyone who shows up to contest Hon Dan Botwe.

Even though chiefs are not supposed to do active partisan politics in Ghana, the Okere Chiefs say, they will pay and personally pick the forms for Mr Botwe to contest.

Nana Asiamah Bekoe, Tufuhene of Okere who is leading the agenda says the Nananoom of Okere would ensure the Regional Regional Reorganisation and Development minister contests the NPP primaries unopposed.

“I’m talking on behalf of all the chiefs in Okere, the chiefs have already decided to pay for his forms. We are not doing politics; there is a saying that he who does well needs a push, that’s why we want him to contest unopposed,” Nana Bekoe explained their action.

Nana Asiamah Bekoe also added that the chiefs will instruct the NPP executives not to sell nomination forms to anyone in the Constituency.
