Renowned rap legend, Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko, popularly known as Obrafour has stated unequivocally that controversial dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah widely recognized as Shatta Wale never disrespected Nigerian artiste, Wizkid.
Earlier, Shatta Wale in his ‘opinion’ indicated that he doesn’t see Wizkid as a superstar hence he rather expects the ‘Come Closer’ hit maker to see him as such.
His comment ‘angered’ followers of Wizkid with some of them raining down insults on Ghanaians without sympathy.
Wizkid however ‘snubbed’ the subject; he never said a word to Shatta Wale.
Speaking to host Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Wednesday, the ‘Kasahari’ hit maker said he sees nothing wrong with what Shatta Wale opined about Wizkid.
According to Obrafour, in the literal sense, there are no stars in the sky walking on earth hence he believes Shatta Wale’s comment was apt.
“I don’t think he meant anything bad. Let’s be real. Who are Superstars? Who is a star? Do we have stars among us walking? Are they in the sky? In each and every one of us, we are blessed with something. We are privileged. There is no star. He believes in himself. But I don’t know why we attached mischiefs to this. We have to open our minds. Things will be easier for us. Let’s think positive about it…” he said to Andy Dosty.
To make the Ghanaian Music Industry lucrative, Obrafour urged the creative arts industry to implement measures that will force media houses to play 98 per cent of Ghanaian music, reserving the remaining two for foreign songs.
“I think 98 per cent won’t be bad. We should appreciate our own. We should play our own music more. I support that. If you are an upcoming artiste you should believe in yourself…” he urged.
