The Professionals Forum of the National Democratic Congress (NDC ProForum) is set to hold the second edition of its Diaspora Reset Engagement Conference (DREC 2.0) in Paris, France, from November 20 to 22, 2026.

The three-day conference, being organised by the NDC ProForum France and UK/Ireland chapters in collaboration with the ProForum International Relations Directorate, will focus on harnessing the expertise and resources of Ghanaians living abroad for national development.

It will be held under the theme, “Beyond the Reset: Harnessing Global Diaspora Expertise to Build a Resilient, Inclusive and Prosperous Ghana.”

DREC 2.0 follows the inaugural conference held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, in November 2025, which brought together professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, policymakers and members of the Ghanaian diaspora for discussions on investment, knowledge-sharing, research and development.

Reports on the 2025 conference indicate that discussions focused on areas including diaspora integration, investment opportunities, skills transfer, youth engagement and stronger collaboration between Ghanaians abroad and institutions in Ghana.

The Paris conference is expected to feature keynote presentations and expert panel discussions on economic development, governance, healthcare, education, technology and investment.

It will also provide opportunities for professional and business networking, allowing participants to exchange ideas, establish connections and explore potential partnerships.

According to the organisers, the conference is premised on the belief that the knowledge, skills, experience and resources of Ghanaians in the diaspora can contribute significantly to Ghana’s development.

DREC 2.0 will therefore create a platform for participants to share perspectives, identify opportunities and develop policy proposals across various sectors of the economy.

The organisers are also inviting Ghanaian professionals in the diaspora and other stakeholders interested in diaspora engagement and national development to participate in the conference.

The 2025 edition established the DREC platform as an avenue for discussions between diaspora professionals and development stakeholders, with calls for more structured mechanisms to translate diaspora expertise and investment into national development initiatives.
