Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye

Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo constituency in the Greater Accra Region, says the police leadership and some government appointees must be blamed for the death of the four Takoradi girls.

According to him, the outcome of the DNA test clearly shows the Police did not exhibit professionalism in dealing with the issue from the onset.

“I will never agree with anyone who says the government and the leadership of the police are not to be blamed; it ends at the leadership which is poor and painful and so they must take responsibility,” he said.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam show, he said President Nana Akufo-Addo must probe the Police Service over the turnout of events.

“If the President wants to prove his commitment, he must take an action on the police and appointees who did not work well,” he said.
