The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed all its regional executives to complete outstanding branch executive elections across the country between August 3 and August 11, 2026.

In a directive dated August 1 and signed by the party’s Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance and Administration, Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, on behalf of the General Secretary, the party instructed Regional Chairmen and Regional Secretaries to ensure the elections are conducted within the stipulated period.

According to the directive, the decision was taken by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) at its meeting held on July 28, 2026, where members agreed that all outstanding branch executive elections should be conducted through the party’s various regions.

The party noted that the list of branches yet to hold elections has already been submitted to the respective Regional Election Committees.

It therefore directed regional executives to work closely with the election committees to ensure the exercise is conducted strictly in accordance with the NDC’s Constitution, Election Guidelines and approved timetable.

The directive further emphasised the need for strict compliance to guarantee the successful completion of the exercise within the designated timeframe.

Regional executives have also been tasked with providing the necessary supervision and logistical support to ensure free, orderly and transparent elections.

The party expressed confidence in the commitment of its regional leadership to successfully execute the assignment, describing the branch executive elections as an important step in strengthening the party’s structures ahead of future political activities.
