But for the intervention of police officers, Myjoyonline.com’s veteran cameraman, David Andoh would have been beaten to pulp by an angry mob.
Mr Andoh was part of a sanitation taskforce that visited the area to inspect the sanitation situation in the area as part of the Joy Clean Ghana Campaign when the incident occurred.

Narrating his ordeal on Adom News, Wednesday, Mr Andoh said he was taking some photos of dirty surroundings at James Town when the Assemblyman for the area, James Addo (aka Zola) with some young men attacked him.
“The Assemblyman slapped me from behind so I fell and the mob pounced on me. I am weak,” he narrated.

The veteran cameraman said his only luck was some police officers at the scene who intervened and drove the mob away.
Even that, Mr Andoh said the Assemblyman, who had called for reinforcement, was threatening to beat him.

He has since lodged a complaint at the James Town police station for prompt action.
Meanwhile, James Addo who smashed the journalist’s camera immediately fled the scene on a motorbike shortly after attacking the journalist.
