The final funeral rites of the late veteran actor, Mac Jordan Amartey was held Saturday at the Christianborg Stake Centre in Accra.

Mac Jordan Amartey died on July 6, 2018, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.

The ceremony was well attended by family, friends, as well as industry players who described him as one who contributed immensely to filmmaking in Ghana.

Oscar Provencal of the Inspector Bediako referred to the late actor as a “real gem” who was among the pioneers who made the movie industry robust during his time.

Prince David Osei said his fond memories about Mac Jordan Amartey was his “unique character” and one who upcoming actors looked up to.

Mac Jordan is known greatly for the popular ‘Idikoko’ TV series. He was also known for numerous TV Theatre productions and Ghanaian films.

The legendary actor is also known for his tiff with actress Grace Nortey in almost all the movies the two starred in.

The late Mac Jordan Amartey left behind a wife and four children.

He was laid to rest at the Osu cemetery.
