A national inter-faith memorial service is currently underway in honour of the eight people who lost their lives in the August 6, 2025, military helicopter crash.
The ceremony is taking place at the UPSA Auditorium in Madina, Accra.
President John Dramani Mahama, who is Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, and Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Chair of the Armed Forces Council, are in attendance alongside government officials, members of the security services and the families of the victims.
The victims included former Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna; NDC First Vice Chairman Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Deputy NADMO Director Samuel Aboagye.
The rest were three military crew members: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, whose lives and work left a legacy of patriotism.
