The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has advised former President John Mahama to report to the rightful authorities if he believes they are planning to wreak havoc and plunge the country into chaos during the 2020 elections.

General Secretary of the party, John Boadu who responded to the former President’s allegations said the NPP is not a violent party and has no history of violence and as such, doesn’t plan to engage in any such acts.

“If President Mahama thinks that the NPP is training thugs, he knows where police stations are located in the country; he should just go and report us to the security. Asutuare is not a private establishment,” he said.

Mr Mahama said he knows of a letter by the Upper West Security Council requesting that some members of the governing NPP be presented for combat training for next year’s election.

According to him, after following up on the said letter, it has emerged that the party indeed has sent these executives to Asutuare in the Greater Accra Region to be trained.

However, John Boadu on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Friday said the former President was only creating fear in the country.

He has, therefore, asked Mr Mahama to visit Asutuare and abreast himself as a leader of a party rather than being mischievous.
