A 40-year-old man, Kwaku Afunumu, has allegedly shot his 36-year-old lover, Afia Florence dead at Nkrakrom, a village near Nkrakwanta in the Dormaa West District over her bride price.
According to the Police Commander for the area, DSP Daniel Wiafe, Madam Florence was found dead in a pool of blood after Mr Afunumu visited her at night.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, DSP Wiafe said preliminary investigation disclosed family of the deceased pressured Mr Afunumu to pay the deceased’s bride price which led to a misunderstanding that forced Madam Florence to vacate their residence to live with a family member.
“The police at Anwia Nkwanta received a complaint around 9:00pm on Friday that a man has shot his lover dead so we went to the scene and found the woman dead in a pool of blood,” he said.

“They have five kids and for sometime now, Afia’s family has been proposing he pays her bride price to make her his wedded wife but led to this,” DSP Wiafe narrated.
The police have since mounted a search for the suspect who is currently on the run with the body of the deceased sent to the Dormaa Ahenkro Presby Hospital.
