Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), Prof. Alex Badioo, has called for the legalization of marijuana.
The CEO made the call when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament yesterday to answer some infractions in their Audited Report.
According to him, the economic potential of marijuana for the country was huge, stressing that it was about time authorities came up with a firm decision on taking advantage of the herb.
Mr. Badioo explained that in advanced countries like the United Kingdom, United States of America (USA) marijuana use is legal.
“In UK, for instance, one can purchase nicely and neatly packaged marijuana from stores for both medical and social use,” he said.
“Even though Ghana does not need the medical use of the drug, it will gain immensely from its exportation if it is legalised,” the GSA boss averred.
Thus interesting I admire his courage on that I realized gtv gorven went off when he started talking about this issue I think is about time we move forward as a nation
We need Doctors to come out and comment on the merits and demerits of marijuana to Ghanaians
This man has proposed something sensible. Akrasi Sarpong in his wisdom, also proposed same. Unfortunately for Ghana, our Authorities have been sleeping from day 1, leading to some other countries taking advantage of us by we importing hair products made from marijuana. Do Ghanaians think at all? What is the use of our MPs if we cannot analyse and see the potential in what the Prof is proposing?
Actually i think this man is saying the truth, well Ghana it’s time for you to decriminalize the herb for the nation to take advantage of it. Well i hope we all recognize that Ganja is the herb with can surely cure all your disease in you.. LEGALIZE GANJA FOR THE YOUTH AND GHANA, GOD BLESS MOTHERLAND GHANA.
